On the Grow!

On The Grow! exemplifies the momentum Ohio Valley Chapter built in 2023, serving our area HD Families, and raising funds to support national HD awareness, advocacy, and research. Our chapter’s mission is improving the lives of HD families in Greater Cincinnati, Greater Dayton, Southeastern In., and Northern Ky.

Here is a quick overview of our work in 2023:

HD Family communications – we leveraged technology to increase effectiveness, at reduced cost!

• The Buckeye Bulletin is now in digital format … available 24/7/365 … updated frequently.
• It is our go-to resource for news, events, education, activities, support group meetings, etc.
• We increased our Reach – mailing list from 450 to 2,000+ and email list from 0 to 1500+!

HD Family services

• Families can now attend events via internet.
• Interactive meetings on Genetic testing, Research, Caregiver training, Nutrition/meal prep and more.
• HD Family Day – our Team Hope Walk fundraiser is transforming into an HD Family Reunion Day.

This work has laid the foundation for our 2024 goals:

• INFORM - Place our new Services brochure into the hands of more HD families.
• LOCATE - Initiate an Outreach Program to locate HD families we do not know about.
• EXPAND - Add interactive communications to The Buckeye Bulletin. Increase education events.
• FOCUS - Learn more about the programming needs of our HD community.
